Ufa claims to host World Volleyball Championship 2022

The capital of Bashkortostan can be one of the cities that will host one of the stages of the World Volleyball Championship in 2022. This was announced at the extended meeting of the board of the Ministry of Youth Policy and Sports of Bashkortostan by the head of the department Ruslan Khabibov.

“It was made possible due to the successful conduct of the League of Nations stage in Ufa,” the minister explained. “In the summer of 2018, matches of the national teams of Russia, Iran, Brazil, and China were visited by more than 17 thousand spectators. We hope that it will soon be decided on holding the stages of the World Championship 2022 in Ufa”.

The expanded meeting of the ministry’s board was held in the capital of Bashkortostan on February 21 as part of the civil youth forum “Bashkortostan - a Territory of Opportunities”. Also today, "Talks with the Acting Head of Bashkiria, Radiy Khabirov" are scheduled at the forum. More than 600 participants are expected at the event.

Earlier, the Bashinform News Agency reported that in 2019, Ufa won the right to host again the Russian stage of the Volleyball League of Nations. Matches with the participation of Russians, Americans, Italians and Portuguese teams will be held at the "Ufa-Arena" on June 7-9.
