Come-back in 30 seconds and failure in shootouts: Salavat Yulaev lost to Avangard

Salavat Yulaev held the second match of the away season in Balashikha. The Omsk Avangard did not expect a quick attack performed by Ufa hockey players. Already by the middle of the first period, Salavat Yulaev twice struck the net of the home team, but the referees did not count one goal, after seeing the goalkeeper's blocking. Zakhar Arzamastsev scored the effective goal.

Then, Bob Hartley’s players joined the fight, stepping forward with accurate throws by Dearne and Taylor. But exactly one minute later Alexander Burmistrov equalized, having scored his first goal for Salavat - 2: 2. Toward the close of the second period, Stolberg brought the Avangard ahead. And in the third period, Semenov, as it seemed, put an end to this match - 4: 2.

Arzamastsev (double) and Burdasov accomplished come-back at the end of the match, having hit the net of Ivan Nalimov twice for 30 seconds.

In the overtime, the rivals did not determine the winner, and in the bullet series Omsk turned out to be more successful - 5: 4. Thus, the team of Nikolay Tsulygin has never been a winner in the game with a series of shootouts.

On January 17, HC Salavat Yulaev will play as a guest of Astana’s Barys.
