Foil fencers from Bashkortostan won French stage of Fencing World Cup

Four athletes from Bashkiria defended the country's honor at the next stage of the Fencing World Cup for men. The champion and bronze medalist of the Summer Olympic Games Timur Safin, Timur Arslanov, Askar Khamzin and Iskander Akhmetov performed in France.

“According to the results of the team competitions, a quartet of Russian foil fencers consisting of Timur Safin, Timur Arslanov, Dmitry Zherebchenko and Aleksey Cheremisinov won,” the press service of the Ministry of Youth Policy and Sports of Bashkiria reports.

In the final match, the Russians were stronger than the Italians (45:40). The US team rose on the third step of the podium.
