Semen Elistratov became European short track champion at 1000 m distance

The Olympic champion of 2014, Ufa short tracker Semen Elistratov won the European Championship, which ended the day before in Dordrecht (Netherlands), at a distance of 1000 m with a result of 1 minute 24.624 seconds. Another Russian, Denis Ayrapetyan, won the bronze medal (1.24,816). The silver winner was a representative of Hungary Liu Shaolin Sandor (1.24,702). Having won at this distance, Elistratov became the 10-time European champion.

The Ufa athlete also took the third place in the multi-discipline event. Earlier, Semen Elistratov was the third in the 1500 meters race. The Bashkir athlete, thus, brought three awards to the count of medals for the Russian team. There are 10 of them, and in the overall standings, the Russian team, which showed a brilliant result, closed the top three.
