2nd Russia-China Youth Winter Games in Ufa: venues to welcome athletes

Ufa will host the 2nd Russia-China Youth Winter Games of 2018 from December 15 to December 18. 98 athletes will arrive in the Bashkir capital to participate in them from each side. Russia will be represented by athletes from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Moscow, Leningrad, Samara, Smolensk, Omsk, Sakhalin, Murmansk, Sverdlovsk, Tver, Kemerovo, Chelyabinsk regions, Bashkortostan, Tatarstan, Udmurtia, Mordovia and Krasnoyarsk Territory.

The program of the 2018 Games includes five sports: skiing, figure skating, snowboarding, hockey and speed skating (short track).

Competitions will be held at four sports venues of the city: Ufa Arena will hold hockey and short track competitions, the Olympic reserve sports school - snowboard, the Palace of Sport - figure skating, and the Biathlon sports complex - skiing.

The Russian-Chinese Games have been held since 2006: competitions in summer sports were held in Tianjin (2006), Moscow (2007), Beijing (2009), Penza (2011), Shanghai (2013), Irkutsk (2015) and Guangzhou (2017).

But the first Winter Games were held in Harbin in 2016, then the Russian team won the overall standings.

The main goals of the Games are the further strengthening of friendship and cooperation between Russia and China, the development of sports traditions, the enhancement of sportsmanship and gaining experience by young athletes of participating in international competitions.
