Salavat Yulaev’s crushing defeat to Metallurg Magnitogorsk

HC Salavat Yulaev played the third match of the next home series with one of the most important rivals - Metallurg (Magnitogorsk). And for the second time in a row, it lost the match without scoring a point.

The score was opened in the first period by the forward Andrei Chibisov - four seconds after Metallurg defended shorthanded. Two and a half minutes before the first siren Juha Metsola was defeated by the defender of Magnitogorsk, Grigory Dronov, thus the score became 0: 2.

After the third missed puck from Evgeny Biryukov, the Ufa team’s coaching staff replaced Metsola with Kareev.

In the final segment, after Alexander Kadeikin received a two-minute penalty for unsportsmanlike behaviour, Magnitogorsk scored again, having brought the advantage to four goals.

Within the framework of the KHL championships, teams played with each other 50 times. Both teams have 25 victories. The goals count is 139-133 in favor of the Ufa club. Last season, HC Salavat Yulaev and HC Metallurg exchanged away victories in the regular time, and in this season the Nikolay Tsulygin’s players won in the overtime.
