Salavat Yulaev won Barys in away match: Metsola has third shutout in season
UFA, 19 November 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Natalia Ovcharuk/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/. On November 18, the Salavat Yulaev hockey players had an away game in Astana. The match of the regular championship of the KHL 11th season ended with a victory of the Ufa team.
The “Barys Arena” visitors did not see a single goal during the first period, although there were risky situations both near Metsola’s and Karlsson’s nets.
The second period was completely won by Salavat Yulaev: in the 26th minute, Teemu Hartikainen capitalized on a power play and in the 35th minute Pavel Koledov made an accurate throw into the near corner of the Kazakh team net. The rivals went for a break with a score of 0: 2.
At the end of the match, the Finnish forward of the Ufa club Hartikainen played high sticking and got a four-minute penalty: a hockey player of Barys had bleeding.
In the second half of the power play, Astana changed the goalkeeper to the sixth player but missed the third puck into an empty net. Artem Sergeev scored a winning goal. The goalkeeper of the Bashkir club Juha Metsola had his third shutout in the season.
The team of Nikolai Tsulygin with two points departed to Novosibirsk, where it would play with the local HC Sibir on November 20.
