Sergei Tomarov resigned as head coach of FC Ufa: new coach name is announced

UFA, 7 November 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Stanislav Shakhov/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/.
As it became known to the Bashinform News Agency, the Ufa football club terminated a contract with the team coach Sergei Tomarov. Dmitry Kirichenko will be the head coach for the next game with Spartak.
The general director of the club Shamil Gazizov confirmed his resignation.
“Tomarov is a good specialist. After a holiday, he will continue to work in the club system,” he said.
The 41-year-old Dmitry Kirichenko is a holder of the best forward title in the Premier League in 2002 and 2005, the champion of the country and winner of the Cup of Russia. Over the years, he played for CSKA, Rostov, and Mordovia. From 2014, he was a part of the Rostov coaching staff, performing the duties of the head coach twice. He is in the coaching staff of FC Ufa since the summer of 2018.
The 36-year-old Sergei Tomarov headed FC Ufa in June 2018, after the last team coach Sergei Semak moved to Zenit. Tomarov became the youngest head coach of the league. Under his leadership, Ufa passed two qualifying rounds of the UEFA Europa League, stopped a footstep away from the group stage, after defeat by the Scottish club Glasgow Rangers. However, the Ufa’s matches in the regular championship do not please its fans - after 13 rounds, the team takes the 15th place, risking to be knocked out to the Football National League.
Ufa will hold the upcoming match on Sunday, November 11. The rival will be Spartak (Moscow), which occupies the sixth place in the Russian Premier League. The match kicks-off at 4 p.m., Ufa time.
