HC Salavat Yulaev beat SKA for second time in 11th KHL season

UFA, 25 October 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Natalia Ovcharuk/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/. The Ufa game between Salavat Yulaev and SKA was not very productive, but interesting. It was the second match of rivals in the framework of the 11th season of the KHL, which the hosts won.

The score was opened by Ilya Vorobyov’s players. Towards the middle of the first period, Nikita Gusev received a pass from Patrick Hersley. The Finnish goalkeeper of the Ufa team was unable to do anything. The Ufa-Arena waited for the return puck for almost 30 minutes of the playing time. As a result, the new captain of HC Salavat Yulaev distinguished himself. Anton Burdasov sent the puck into the net assisted by Tkachev and Khokhryakov - 1: 1.

An outcome of the match was unclear until the last minute. Everything was decided by a Teemu Hartikainen’s goal: a few seconds before the final siren, the Finnish forward sent the puck into the net of SKA with his head. The arbitrators took a video review and allowed the goal - 2: 1. It was the second victory of the Nikolay Tsulygin’s team over the St. Petersburg club.

The Salavat Yulaev team will spend the next match on home ice with the HC Vityaz (Moscow region) on October 28.
