100 fencers from Russia and Japan will arrive in Ufa to “Saber of Salavat” competition

UFA, 8 October 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Natalia Ovcharuk/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/. On October 9, the All-Russian fencing competition “Saber of Salavat” will start in Ufa. About 100 athletes from Russia and Japan will arrive in the capital of Bashkiria. Our republic will be represented by 60 participants, including the winners and prize-winners of world and European championships.

The opening ceremony of the tournament will be attended by the Minister of Youth Policy and Sports of the Republic of Bashkortostan Ruslan Habibov, the senior coach of the Russian national reserve team (rapier, men), the bronze medalist of the Olympic Games Vyacheslav Pozdnyakov, the senior coach of the youth national team of Russia (rapier, men), two-time fencing world champion Yuri Lykov, Olympic champions in fencing Anvar Ibragimov and Timur Safin, as well as the leaders of the Russian and Bashkortostan national teams - Timur Arslanov, Anastasia Ivanova, Adelina Zagidullina.

Fencing competitions start at 11 a.m. at the Sports Training Center RB (24/1 Sultanov Street).
