New stadium construction is scheduled to begin in Ufa in 2020 - Rustem Khamitov

UFA, 1 October 2018. /Bashinform News Agency/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/. In the coming years, a new football stadium will appear in Ufa. The Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov said this during a working meeting with Alexander Alaev, the acting president of the Russian Football Union.

“In terms of facilities, we would like to build a modern stadium, approximately for 15-20 thousand seats. We do not need a global version of those that were prepared for the World Cup. I think that we need a modest but at the same time a modern version of the sports arena”, said Rustem Khamitov.

The cost of the new sports facility is estimated at 3-5 billion rubles. The Belarusian project is planned to be used as a basis of it.

“I think that the next year we will start designing works. We should buy a design project and customize it to our conditions. We are planning to start building in 2020, to have such facility by 2022-2023.”
