Rustem Khamitov took part in Ufa International Marathon

UFA, 3 September 2018. /Bashinform News Agency/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/. On September 2, the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov took part in the Ufa International Marathon.

This year the marathon took place for the fourth time. More than 3,500 people from 10 countries participated in this sporting event. The program included 3, 10, 21.1 and 42.2 km distances, as well as a 4 × 10 km relay race and handbikers race of athletes with disabilities.

Within the framework of the charity event #begupomogu, organized by the "Markhamat" Charity Foundation, the head of the republic overcame the distance of 3 km.

“I would like to support children who, for one reason or another, cannot run, participate in the competitions. Both our Charity Foundation team and I are participating in this event for these children," the Head of Bashkortostan informed. “In addition, fundraising is organized on the Internet. If I may say so, I, in particular, was responsible for funds raising for two boys who could not attend the event today. They mostly stay at home; sometimes visit the "Markhamat" training center. We have collected quite good amount of money, which is enough for them to study for a year and a half.”

“The Ufa Marathon has already a certain history. It is gratifying that thousands of people take part in it. Residents of other cities come here too. This all sounds very optimistically. It means that we are doing the right things here. And most importantly - people in need are rendered the assistance by the marathon participants”, Rustem Khamitov marked.
