International Summer Children's Games will be held on off-budget funds in Ufa in 2019

UFA, 27 June 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Natalia Ovcharuk/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/. From July 9 to July 14, 2019, the capital of Bashkiria will host the 53-year International Children's Games. The agreement was signed in the city administration on June 26.

Athletes aged 12-15 will compete in nine sports: athletics, football, swimming, fencing, beach volleyball, basketball, judo, rock-climbing and Greco-Roman wrestling (the latter two were included in the ICG program for the first time). Almost two thousand participants from more than 60 cities of the world will arrive in Ufa.

It is worth noting that the International Summer Children's Games -2019 in Ufa are fully organized for extra-budgetary funds. Major sponsors and partners are involved. According to the head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Bashkiria Azat Fazlyev, these Games will be used by the republic as its own brand promotion. Besides, the four-time Olympic swimming champion Alexander Popov will be an official ICG person in Ufa. According to the members of the organizing committee, the agreement with the famous sportsman has already been signed.

The delegation of the International Children's Games represented by the President of the Games Committee, Thorsten Rush and the Secretary-General of the ICG Committee, Richard Smith, will stay in the capital of Bashkortostan until June 30. The guests of Ufa plan to visit and inspect all the sports facilities where the competitions are planned.

On June 26, the delegation together with the members of the Games Organizing Committee in Ufa and the Chief of Staff of the head of the republic Evgeny Mavrin held a meeting.
