Sergei Semak talked about his tasks at Zenit, but first of all thanked Ufa

On May 29, the Ufa football club officially announced a termination of the contract with the head coach Sergei Semak. A few hours later, the St. Petersburg team announced his appointment as a coach of blue-white-blue. After a meeting with the Zenit fans, the ex-coach of the Bashkir team in an interview with Sportbox told about the tasks at his new workplace, but first of all, he mentioned Ufa.

"First I would like to thank FC Ufa, which gave me an opportunity to gain some experience, and Shamil Gazizov, who took such risk. I would like to thank the leadership and coaching staff, first of all - the players. They spent a good season and deservedly took their current position", said Sergei Semak. “Now one of the main tasks is to determine the circle of players who will go to the first training camp, which we will count on in the new season. To whom would I give preference - Anton Zabolotny or Artem Dzyuba? We will soon find out".

The main task for Semak in the northern capital club is to return the team to the Champions League.

It is likely that one more specialist, Semak’s assistant Alexander Nizelik will also depart from the Ufa coaching staff to Zenit.

The Ufa team, according to general director Shamil Gazizov, will determine the new head coach within 10 days.
