Rustem Khamitov about FC Ufa victory: "This is collective success of players, coaches and fans"

UFA, 14 May 2018. /Bashinform News Agency/. Yesterday, the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov congratulated the players, the coaching staff and the leadership of the football club Ufa on the successful completion of the season.

In the last 30th round of the Russian Premier League, FC Ufa won a victory over Tosno (Leningrad region) with a score of 5-0, having taken the sixth place in the final standings with the right to play in the Europa League. This is the best result in the history of the club.

After the match, Rustem Khamitov thanked the players for the good form that Ufa had demonstrated throughout the season.

“Guys, today you have done a great job for our republic, our city. I want to thank you all. Well done! It's not even the fact that you took the sixth place, maybe this year you will even play in the Europa League", said the Head of Bashkortostan. “The thing is that you showed your character, played with all clubs head-to-head. You have 11 wins, 10 draws and only 9 defeats. Today you showed a new record result - 5: 0. Certainly, our republic will be always beside you. We will always help you to go forward.”

Also after the game the head of the region together with the team and fans said goodbye to Dmitry Stotsky, who moved to FC Krasnodar, and Nikolai Safronidi, who completed his professional career. Rustem Khamitov handed them memorable club t-shirts.

In an interview with journalists, Rustem Khamitov noted that the success of the club was important for all residents of Bashkortostan.

“I think that today there are many people who are happy about this remarkable success. Apparently, our club will reach the Europa League. This is a new step and new opportunities,” said the head of the region.

The head of the republic noted that by the new season the club should think about new "serious, strong, reliable" players. However, it is not yet planned to gear the team toward the championship.
