Salavat Yulaev will sign contract with new head coach within next two days

UFA, 10 April 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Alfiya Agliullina/. HC Salavat Yulaev within the next two days will sign a year contract with the new head coach of the team Nikolai Tsulygin. His assistant will be Nikolai Zavarukhin. Both specialists previously competed for the Ufa team, TASS reported on Monday referring to a source in the club.

The new coaching staff of the hockey club Salavat Yulaev will have to unite the players to create a healthy atmosphere in the team. This opinion was expressed by a three-time world champion, winner of the Canadian Cup, the former Salavat Yulaev’s player in 1976-1979 Irek Gimayev, commenting on the upcoming appointment.

On April 4, HC Salavat Yulaev announced a termination of the contract with the head coach Erkka Westerlund. Nikolai Tsulygin was appointed the acting head coach. The Ufa club this season reached the 1/4 finals of the Gagarin Cup, where it lost in a series of four wins to the Chelyabinsk Traktor with a score of 3: 4.
