Native of Bashkortostan Olga Vilukhina and her former team partners sued Grigory Rodchenkov

UFA, 21 February 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Daria Petrova/. Russian biathletes Olga Zaitseva, Yana Romanova and Olga Vilukhina filed a lawsuit against the former head of the Moscow Anti-Doping Committee Grigory Rodchenkov. This is reported by TASS with reference to the legal company Herbert Smith Freehills.
The document, cited by the agency, in particular, says that this step was taken "due to a systematic defamation of the defendant against the athletes, which caused them serious damage or destroyed their careers and caused them huge financial, professional and reputation damage".
According to The New York Times, each of the biathletes is seeking $10 million each in damages.
In November 2017, the International Olympic Committee suspended for life Olga Vilukhina and deprived her of Olympic medals won in Sochi - silver medals in the sprint and relay races. Vilukhina was among the other Russian athletes accused of using dope. The testimony of Grigory Rodchenkov caused this decision of the IOC.
