Third series of "Green Derby": Salavat Yulaev lost to Ak Bars in Kazan

The match on the ice of the Tatneft-Arena started with a quick attack of Ak Bars, which was organized by the veteran of the Kazan ice squad Danis Zaripov. The home team every second was more and more active at the gates of the Salavat Yulaev defended by Andrey Kareyev, and to the middle of the first period opened a score. Rob Klinkhammer overplayed the goalkeeper of Salavat Yulaev - 1: 0.

The head coach of Ufa hockey players in the locker room discussed the errors of the first period. The statistics showed that Salavat Yulaev lost twice to Ak Bars in face-offs. In the 26th minute of the match the Kazan hockey players gave Salavat Yulaev a chance to equalize the score in the power play. Teemu Hartikainen scored assisted by Linus Omark - 1: 1. In the end of the second period, Danis Zaripov scored the second goal. The Finnish coach of the Bashkir team tried to challenge the second goal of Ak Bars, but the referees did not see the goalkeeper's obstruction - 2: 1.

The third segment of the playing time was without goals. However, the intensity of emotions was observed until the last second: the Ufa team tried to save the match by replacing Kareyev with the sixth hockey player. But Omark broke the rules in the attack zone and killed our chance to score points. Kazan won the third "green derby" in the jubilee season of the KHL.
