Bashkir short-tracker Ruslan Zakharov re-qualified for Olympics-2018

Ruslan Zakharov, who until the present moment represented the Bashkir short track school on the world stage, will compete at the Olympics-2018 in Pyeongchang for another region. According to some sources, this is a Moscow region. The athlete says in social networks that he re-qualified and became a member of the Russian national speed skating team.
"At the 4th stage of the World Cup the qualification for the forthcoming Winter Olympic Games in the mass start discipline was completed. The Russian men's national team can be represented by a maximum number of athletes in this discipline. Danila Semerikov and I were among the top 24 athletes by results of three mass starts," wrote Ruslan Zakharov. "Six months ago I would not have believed that it was possible at all. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this result. It was a great honor for me to represent the Russian national speed skating team in the international arena".
30 athletes can represent Bashkortostan at the upcoming Games in South Korea. Earlier the Olympic Committee of Russia said that no athlete out of the admitted at the moment refused to participate in the Olympics under a neutral flag.
