Aigul Idrisova and Alexander Georgiev represent Bashkiria at World Mind Sports Games in China

UFA, 7 December 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Alim Faizov/. On Friday, December 8, the World Mind Sports Games (WMSG) will start in Huai’an City. Two representatives of the draughts school of Bashkortostan will take part in them: Aigul Idrisova and Alexander Georgiev.
The organizer of complex competitions in five types of intellectual sport (bridge, go, xiangqi, chess, draughts) is the International Mind Sports Association.
Athletes have passed a hard selection for the final competitions of the WMSG, where the strongest of the strongest perform.
12 men and eight women from countries of Asia, America, Africa and Europe will compete in the draughts tournament. Russia is represented by six people: four men and two women.
Aigul Idrisova - winner of the World Cup final, held in March this year in Ufa. Alexander Georgiev - the winner of the World Cup 2017 for a total of more than five stages.
Draughts players will hold circular tournaments in three types of program: blitz, rapid and super blitz, the Federation of International Draughts of the Republic of Bashkortostan reported. The competition will end on December 16.
The World Mind Sports Games have been held since 2008 in China and is comparable to the Olympic Games. According to the total number of medals won in all five disciplines for all these years, the record holders are Ufa natives Alexander Georgiev and Tamara Tansykkuzhina. They have won seven medals at the World Mind Games, of which Alexander Georgiev has four gold ones.
