Ufa native Anton Babikov finished fifth at Biathlon World Cup stage

UFA, 1 December 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Natalia Ovcharuk/. The trainee of Bashkir biathlon Anton Babikov was the best among Russians in the men's individual race of the first stage of the World Cup, which takes place in the Swedish city of Ostersund. The Ufa native finished the fifth, having lost six seconds to Martin Fourcade in the fight for the bronze.

"Of course, there are minuses and pluses. But the beginning of the season is likely to be quite difficult. We have a lot of work to do. And we are affected by certain pressure. I think everyone understands this. Probably, it is the hardest for us to start the season. We have to overcome all this and finally feel the courage of competitions and starts. Therefore, I can give myself an excellent grade for this race although the result is not ideal", the Union of Russian Biathletes quotes Anton Babikov.
