IOC disqualified Bashkir biathlete Olga Vilukhina for life and deprived of Olympic awards
UFA, 28 November 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Natalia Ovcharuk/. The International Olympic Committee after the next meeting deprived five more Russian athletes of medals. Among them was a biathlete from the Bashkir Mezhgorye Olga Vilukhina.
"My medals are clean. Hundreds of my samples, taken over 15 years in sports, are all negative. And even the one for which I am being disqualified. We are punished for clean samples. I was happy in Sochi, and the emotions, the joy that I gave to my fans and the country, are not taken away. I will fight and stick to guns!" Olga Vilukhina wrote on her page on the Instagram.
At the Olympic Games in Sochi in 2014, the biathlete from Bashkiria won two silver medals: the first in the relay race with Zaitseva and Shumilova, the second in sprint. Now the award will be given to the Norwegian athletes, and the sprint silver will go to the representative of Ukraine Vita Semerenko.
In 2016, Olga Vilukhina completed her sports career.
