Timur Safin won gold medal of All-Russian sports competitions in Sochi

UFA, 3 October 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Natalia Ovcharuk/. The trainee of the Ufa school of fencing, bronze prize-winner of the Olympic Games in Rio Timur Safin soars to new heights. On September 30, the foil fencer won gold at the All-Russian sports competitions in Sochi, defeated the opponent with a difference in one shot - 15:14. By the way, his countryman and namesake Timur Arslanov fought in the final with the participant of the Olympic Games. The second Ufa native won the silver medal of the competition.

Another Bashkir sportsman Iskander Akhmetov reached the semifinal; he finished the tournament in the fourth place, the press service of the Russian Fencing Federation reported.

Among the girls, there were also trainees of Bashkir fencing on the podium. The silver of Sochi competitions went to the 27-year-old Anastasia Ivanova. The third step of the podium was taken by our foil-fencer Adelina Zagidullina, who shared this place with the Kursk athlete Yulia Biryukova.
