Vil Gabdullin became the only 36-time world champion in martial arts in Russia

UFA, 20 September 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Galiya Nabieva/. The grand opening of the 11th World Martial Arts Championship Touchsparring W.A.S.C.O. – 2017 took place in the sports complex of the Italian resort town Bellaria-lgea Marina-Rimini. Bashkir athlete Vil Gabdullin participated in the championship as part of the Russian national team. At the opening ceremony the W.A.S.C.O. President Giani Sarritzu solemnly handed over to Vil Gabdullin a memorable gift for strengthening friendship between the peoples of Italy and Russia, popularization and propaganda of martial arts in the world.
Vil Gabdullin performed well at the World Championships, won a gold medal and became the only 36-time world champion in martial arts in Russia. More than 350 athletes from 15 countries participated in the World Championship; it was held in sections; touchsparring, karate, taekwondo, kung fu and breaking things. Vil Gabdullin participated in the section of kung fu, a hard style with weapons. The Russian national team, made up of athletes from Murmansk, St. Petersburg, Moscow and Ufa, successfully performed at the championship, having won 25 medals.
