Winners of Third Ufa International Marathon are announced

UFA, 18 September 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Gulfiya Akulova/. The winners of the Third Ufa International Marathon were announced. The gold medalist of the sporting event became Arsel Fashetdinov from Sterlitamak, who ran a marathon distance of 42.2 km with a result of 2 hours 24 minutes 11 seconds. The vice-champion became the Orenburg native Alexei Shirshov with a silver medal. The bronze medal went to Marat Abubakirov, who came from the village of Tulgan, Orenburg region, his time was 2 hours 30 minutes 50 seconds.

Another main person of the third Ufa International Marathon was a representative of the sports club "Lokomotiv" Olga Dedova from Perm. The runner overcame the marathon distance of 42.2 km with the result of 2 hours 40 minutes 22 seconds. Thus, the track record of the previous Ufa International Marathon was beaten. The athlete also took the 5th place in the overall standings. Last year she was the eighth, and the winners of the marathon-2016 were the runners from Sverdlovsk Alexei Nikonorov and Maxim Nikolnikov.

This year the Ufa International Marathon was held for the third time. Over 5000 athletes from 15 countries and 180 cities of the world took part in the race. The athletes ran along the historic part of Ufa. The routes went along the main sights of the capital: the Monument to Salavat Yulayev, the Congress Hall, the "7 girls" Fountain, the "Ufa-Arena" ice palace and the monument to Mustai Karim.

"350 people started the 42.2 km race, about 650 runners - half marathon, 1000 people - 10 km and 3000 people - 3 km race", said the director of the marathon Vladislav Litvinchuk.
