Olympic Games will be held in Paris and Los Angeles

UFA, 14 September 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Galiya Nabieva/. The Summer Olympic Games-2028 will be held in Los Angeles, it was the only candidate for the competition. The Summer Games 2024 will be held in Paris.

This is reported by RBC with reference to the website of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

Paris and Los Angeles were the only candidates for hosting the Summer Olympic Games in 2024 and in 2028, respectively.

According to the mayor of Los Angeles Eric Gorsetti, the competition "does not interfere" with the progress of the city, and the Games themselves are "a force that will help interpret Los Angeles as the best city in the world".

Paris spent the Olympics in 1924 last time, Los Angeles in 1984. The nearest summer Games will be hosted by Tokyo in 2020. The previous Olympics were held in Rio de Janeiro in 2016. The Russian team took the fourth place in the overall standings.
