HC Salavat Yulaev lost to Kazakh HC Barys in Ufa

UFA, 6 September 2017. /Bashinform News Agency/. Today in Ufa HC Salavat Yulaev held a final match of the first home series of the regular season against Barys (Astana, Kazakhstan). The game ended with a score of 3: 5 in favor of Barys.

The first period was marked by a tangible advantage of the guests. The Barys hockey players were quicker and more accurate in the attack, and the attempts of the Salavat Yulaev team to counterattack were broken against the competently constructed defense. As a result, for 20 minutes of the match the Ufa club missed two goals.

The beginning of the second period seemed to repeat the scenario of the first one, but then the guests were awarded a penalty, and the Salavat Yulaev players could take advantage of the chance and capitalize on the power play. A little more than a minute it was followed by a prompt attack of the visitors' gate, which ended with the second scored goal. With a score of 2: 2, the third period promised to be a hard battle. Teemu Hartikainen in a beautiful combination scored the third goal assisted by Linus Umark.

It seemed that the game was over, but in two minutes before the final honk, the Ufa team took a penalty. The coach of Barys removed the goalkeeper. The game six versus four allowed to equalize the score. Salavat Yulaev made a mistake and missed the fourth goal. The attempt to equalize the score having changed the goalkeeper to the sixth field player led to the fifth puck into our net.

Having finished the home series, on September 8 the Ufa team will play the first away match of the regular season in Podolsk. The next home game will be held with the HC Dinamo (Riga) on September 12.
