Four Ufa residents swam across Bosphorus strait from Asia to Europe
UFA, 26 July 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Rozaliya Valeeva/. Istanbul hosted the 29th Annual Bosporus Cross-Continental Swim, which was attended by about two thousand swimmers from 49 countries, of which approximately 400 participants were representatives of Russia. Among them there were four Ufa residents, trainees of the light swimming school “I Love Swimming”. One of them is the organizer of marathons and runner Vladislav Litvinchuk. He crossed the Bosporus for 1 hour 12 minutes and 9 seconds, the press attaché of the Ufa International Marathon Svetlana Kulikova reports.
The length of the race was 6.5 km. The leaders were the Russians Evgeniy Yeliseyev and Kristina Kochetkova. Evgeniy overcame the distance in 50 minutes 58 seconds. Kristina Kochetkova showed the result of 54 minutes 57 seconds. The second and the third places went to the Turkish athletes.
Winners received sets of medals and cups. In addition, each participant in the swim became the owner of a special certificate confirming the crossing of the Bosphorus Strait from one part of the world (Asia) to another (Europe), indicating his personal result.
