Bashkiria athletes won nine medals at 23rd Deaflympics Summer Games in Turkey
UFA, 24 July 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Elmira Sabirova/. Bashkortostan athletes won nine medals at the 23rd Deaflympics Summer Games in the Turkish city of Samsun.
According to the Ministry of Sport of the Republic of Bashkortostan, judo athletes Rustem Akhmetov (weight category over 100 kg) and Rinat Kadyrov (up to 90 kg) became winners.
The badminton player Karina Khakimova and judo players Liana Timasheva, Mikhail Sidorov, Rinat Kadyrov and Zaur Bedanokov won silver medals in team tournaments.
Also Zaur Bedanokov became a silver medalist in a personal tournament in the weight category up to 81 kg, and Liana Timasheva won bronze in the weight category up to 57 kg.
In addition, a bronze medal at a distance of 50 m butterfly went to a student of Bashkir State Pedagogical University Ilya Trishkin, but he competes for the Saratov region.
After four competitive days the Russian team consolidated its leadership in the team event with 28 gold, 21 silver and 10 bronze awards. The second place is taken by the team of Ukraine (6-8-14), the third – by the national team of the Republic of Korea (6-6-6), the federal Ministry of Sport reports.
