Ice Hockey Championship 2017: Russia and Canada will meet before main match

UFA, 19 May 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Dmitry Slezin/. The Russian national hockey team reached the semi-finals of the 2017 World Cup, which is held at the Cologne and Paris venues. In the quarterfinals, the Russians defeated the Czech national team - 3: 0.

The net of the Russian national team were defended by the Ufa trainee Andrei Vasilevsky, who managed to keep a clean sheet for the first time in the championship. The goals were scored by Dmitry Orlov, Nikita Kucherov and Artemy Panarin.

In the semifinals the fans will have an early finale, which is always expected at all tournaments. Russia will fight with Canada. Canadians in a bitter struggle defeated one of the hosts of the championship - the Germans - 2: 1.

In the other quarterfinals, the United States lost to Finland - 0: 2, and Sweden also defeated the Swiss in a tough struggle - 3: 1.

Thus, Canada and Russia and Sweden and Finland will meet in the semifinals on May 20.
