Master-weightlifter from Bashkiria Pavel Lobanov became world champion

UFA, 3 May 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Dmitry Slezin/. The 9th World Masters Games and the World Weightlifting Masters Championships were held in New Zealand. The participants of the competition were about 25 thousand sportsmen - representatives of 100 countries, who competed for medals in 28 kinds of sport. The Russian national team included the sportsman from Bashkortostan - the Chairman of the Committee for Physical Culture and Sports Pavel Lobanov.
The Bashkir athlete became the champion of the World Games and the World Weightlifting Championship in 254 kg of double-event (110 kg in snatch and 144 kg in jerk). In addition, he became the absolute winner of the World Games and the World Cup, setting a new record for the Games in the clean and jerk of 144 kg.
