Russian best gymnasts will gather in Ufa for Ekaterina Oginskaya Tournament

UFA, 28 March 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Alim Faizov/. From March 30 to April 2, Ufa will host the 7th interregional tournament in rhythmic gymnastics in memory of Ekaterina Oginskaya. About 600 gymnasts from more than 20 cities of Russia, as well as Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan are expected to participate in the competitions.

It is expected that the honourary guests of the tournament will be: Ulyana Trofimova - world-class athlete, participant of the Olympic Games in London, multiple medalist and winner of the World Cup stages; Elizaveta Nazarenkova - world-class athlete, two-time Asian champion, multiple winner of the World Cup stages; Margarita Mamun - Olympic champion 2016, seven-time world champion in rhythmic gymnastics, four-time European champion, champion of the 1st European Games of 2015 in Baku, multiple winner of the Grand Prix and World Cup stages.

The tournament will be held at the sports and fitness complex of Bashkir State Medical University (Teatralnaya str., 2/1), as well as at "Dynamo" sports complex, the Federation of Rhythmic Gymnastics Ufa.

Ekaterina Oginskaya is the founder of rhythmic gymnastics in Bashkortostan and the city of Ufa, as well as the founder of the Physical Education Department at Bashkir State Pedagogical University. In memory of her in March 2010 the First Open Cup of the city was organized in Ufa. A year later, the Oginskaya Memory Competition was given the status of an Open Republican Tournament, and in 2012, two events took place: the Open Republican Tournament and the Ufa Cup in Rhythmic Gymnastics.
