Children from Bashkiria will compete at Special Olympics Winter Games in Austria

UFA, 20 March 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Galiya Nabieva/. Six children with disabilities from Bashkortostan became participants of prestigious international competitions in Austria. The deputy of the State Duma from Bashkortostan Rima Batalova helped young athletes in their endeavor for Olympus.

The Member of the Committee for Physical Culture, Sport, Tourism and Youth Affairs of the State Duma Rima Batalova took part in a solemn opening of the Special Olympics World Winter Games 2017 and a Parade of Athletes at the Planai Stadium in Schladming in Austria.

People with intellectual disabilities participate in Special Olympics. 2600 athletes from 107 countries will show their skills at the Games. The competitions will be held in eight kinds of sports: floorball, field hockey, figure skating, short track, alpine skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. The Russian national team includes 119 people from 22 regions.
