HC Salavat Yulaev finished road stand with defeat in Cherepovets

UFA, 30 January 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Dmitry Slezin/. HC Salavat Yulaev finished a road stand of the ninth championship of the Kontinental Hockey League. In Cherepovets the team of Igor Zakharkin met with the outsider of Western Conference – HC Severstal.

Linus Umark opened the score by using the power play in the first period with a throw from the blue line - 0: 1.

However, the Ufa club traditionally lost the second part of the match. Maxim Trunev and Pavel Chernov brought forward the Cherepovets team - 2: 1.

Dmitry Makarov managed to hit an empty net in the third period and also during the power play - 2: 2.

In overtime HC Severstal pulled out a victory - 3: 2.

Since the last of northwest road stand in the regular season, HC Salavat Yulaev has gained just two points obtained at its beginning in Podolsk and at the end in Cherepovets.

The next series of meetings, home and final one will begin on February 1– the Ufa team will host SKA (St. Petersburg).
