According to the supervisory authority's press office, a resident of the Kemerovo Region arrived in Neftekamsk in October 2025 and posed as a courier. He contacted the parents of a fallen participant in the special military operation and persuaded them to transfer 14 million rubles into a "secure account." A few days later, acting on instructions from the scheme's organizers, the man collected another 8 million rubles from a resident of the Krasnodar Territory. The total amount stolen reached 22 million rubles.
The man has been charged with fraud. The case files concerning his accomplices have been separated into a distinct set of legal proceedings.
