In Bashkiria, pedestrians and drivers were reminded to be attentive

Autumn is a time when the road requires special attention, the State Committee of the Republic of Bashkortostan for Emergency Situations reminded. The agency noted that daylight hours are getting shorter every day. Under these conditions, the risk of traffic accidents increases significantly because drivers notice pedestrians later and people have a harder time seeing approaching vehicles.

The State Committee strongly recommends that pedestrians wear reflective elements, which make a person visible to a driver from up to 150 meters away. You should cross the road only at a pedestrian crossing and on a green traffic light, after making sure the driver sees you. Do not step onto the roadway from behind parked cars or bushes, get distracted by a phone, or wear a hood that prevents you from noticing danger in time.

Drivers are advised to turn on low-beam headlights even at dusk, reduce speed before crossings and in residential areas, keep more distance because autumn roads are slippery, and avoid phone distractions while driving. Giving way to pedestrians is not just a courtesy, but a duty.
