Moose wandered into city in Bashkiria

In Sterlitamak, people spotted a moose near the Sodovik sports complex. Residents reported this on social media. The forest guest was even filmed while eating – it was consuming leaves from the trees.

Moose coming out to people in Sterlitamak is not the first time. For example, last year an animal appeared in a residential neighborhood at 35 Druzhby Street. Specialists from the Ministry of Ecology arrived at the scene.

Specialists remind people that encounters become more likely in the fall, as moose enter the mating season and move around more in search of a mate. Young individuals may also leave their usual territory and end up near the city.

When encountering wild animals, do not approach them or make contact; do not feed them or try to scare or drive them away; avoid sudden movements and loud noises; and report the incident immediately to the competent authorities.
