Since September, it is impossible to register Russian domains anonymously
Now, administrators must undergo a verification procedure. Starting in September this year, a new procedure for registering domain names in the Russian domain zones .ru, .su, and .рф is in effect.
Domains can only be registered by registrars from a special list, with mandatory identification of administrators via Gosuslugi.
That is, domains are now registered to a specific person or organization; it is no longer possible to register them to a proxy person.
This will complicate the use of Russian domains for illegal activities, including phishing and fake websites, and will contribute to the security of the internet space, federal media note.
