In Ufa, courier who stole 1.3 million rubles from pensioner was convicted

The court sentenced a resident to 1 year and 6 months in a general regime penal colony for participating in a fraudulent scheme and stealing 1.3 million rubles from an 88-year-old pensioner. The full amount of the damage was also recovered from the convicted person.

The Demsky District Court of Ufa handed down the verdict in the criminal case. The man was found guilty of fraud committed by an organized group on an especially large scale.

According to the press service of the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Bashkortostan, in April 2026, he joined a criminal group that deceived citizens and stole their money. On the instructions of his accomplices, the man arrived at the home of an 88-year-old Ufa resident and took 1.3 million rubles from him.

The court considered the public prosecutor's position and imposed a sentence of imprisonment in a general-regime penal colony. In addition, the court granted the prosecutor's office's lawsuit to recover the stolen amount. The pensioner has already been voluntarily compensated for the damage.
