In Bashkiria, large flock of cranes was captured before flying south
On the territory of the Asly-Kul Nature Park, a state inspector captured about 25 gray cranes, the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic reported.
According to ornithologist Elza Gabbasova, the birds are now gathering into pre-migration groups—by the end of September, they will head to warmer regions.
Observing such gatherings is especially important for scientists: it helps track migration routes and the state of the bird population. Cranes traditionally choose secluded places to rest before their long flight, and their appearance near bodies of water becomes a real natural event for residents of the region.
