Bank employees saved resident of Bashkortostan from losing 400 thousand rubles
A 38-year-old resident contacted the police of the Alsheevsky District. Fraudsters called her via a messenger, introduced themselves as insurance company employees, and promised to process child benefits for her husband, who died during the special military operation.
Under the pretext of a hacked Gosuslugi account, the woman was convinced to transfer more than 800 thousand rubles to the criminals — all the money earned from the sale of two cars. Then the scammers tried to force the victim to give another 400 thousand under the pretext of "financing unfriendly countries."
When the victim tried to transfer funds via an ATM, employees of the credit institution suspected something was wrong, stopped the operation, and prevented the theft of the next sum. The police have opened a criminal case for attempted fraud.
