Residents of Bashkiria reminded of ban on alcohol sales on September 1

The restrictions do not apply to the retail sale of alcoholic beverages when providing catering services.

On Knowledge Day in Bashkiria, alcohol sales will be prohibited. Starting tomorrow, all stores in the region will be banned from selling alcoholic beverages.

This restriction is established in accordance with Article 6.2 of the Law of the Republic of Bashkortostan "On the regulation of activities in the field of production and turnover of ethyl alcohol, alcoholic and alcohol-containing products and on the restriction of consumption (drinking) of alcoholic products in the Republic of Bashkortostan."

As specified by the regional Ministry of Trade, the law prohibits retail trade in alcohol. The exception is catering establishments (cafes, restaurants, bars). Violations carry large fines: 20 to 40 thousand rubles for individuals and 100 to 300 thousand rubles for legal entities, with confiscation of products.
