In Bashkiria, almost all "zebra" crossings near schools have been updated
As part of preparations for the new academic year, officials inspected road sections near schools and kindergartens. Lyubov Minakova, head of the regional Ministry of Transport, announced this on August 31 at an operational government meeting at the Center for Management of the Republic of Bashkortostan (Tsur).
"According to municipal data, "zebra" markings have been updated at 1,507 pedestrian crossings (or 99.6%) on local roads with asphalt concrete pavement near educational organizations. Also, to reduce speed, about 1,300 artificial bumps have been installed on these road sections. There are 456 pedestrian crossings with a crushed stone surface, so no markings are applied, but "Pedestrian Crossing" road signs are installed and updated. On regional roads, "zebra" markings have also been updated at 164 pedestrian crossings (or 100%), and 98 artificial structures have been installed," she reported.
As a result, the main sections of public roads near schools and kindergartens have been prepared for the start of the school year.
