Since the beginning of the year, more than 724 thousand sick leave certificates have been paid to residents of Bashkiria, with over 12.6 billion rubles allocated for these purposes, the Social Fund of Russia branch for Bashkortostan reported. Of these, over 70,000 certificates (more than 10%) were issued for caring for sick family members, primarily children.
As the regional Social Fund explained, for a child under 8 years old, a sick leave certificate is paid at 100% of the average earnings; after 8 years, the calculation of the payment becomes more complex (the first 10 days are based on insurance seniority, thereafter at 50% of the average earnings; if the child is treated in a hospital — 50% of the average earnings for the entire period).
If an adult is sick, the employer pays for the first three days, and the Social Fund pays for the subsequent ones.
