In Ufa, rescuers lowered 14 people from de-energized cable car
On Thursday, the cable car in Ufa's Tramplin area unexpectedly lost power. According to the city's Civil Protection Department, an emergency power outage occurred. People were stranded in cabins at height.
"The duty shift of the Ufa Civil Protection Department's search and rescue squad arrived at the scene in a matter of minutes. The evacuation went perfectly and in one breath. Rescuers encouraged the passengers, joked, and carefully lowered each one to the ground," the department reported.
Spectators and the rescued met each successful landing with applause.
As a result, rescuers rescued 14 people, including 6 children and a pregnant woman. There were no casualties.
