
Despite the lack of forecasts, instruments recorded a magnetic storm that engulfed the entire planet at once. The Laboratory of Solar Astronomy reported this.
The good news is that the storm's intensity is at its weakest (G1 on a 5-point scale). Furthermore, it is expected to be short-lived — the disturbances will end by midday.
Overall, the first half of August has been quite active: this is the third magnetic storm in 18 days (previously on August 2 and 8). All of them have been of moderate strength — no higher than G2.
