Owners of websites, applications, and social networks with a daily audience of over half a million people will be required to provide visitors with the opportunity to label content created by neural networks. AI service developers and users will work out the format of such labeling.
The basic law on artificial intelligence, signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin, will enter into force on September 1. At the same time, the owners of these services will have to warn who owns the copyrights to such content and whether it can be downloaded.
At the same time, the use of cultural and artistic works to train neural networks will not constitute copyright infringement if they are obtained legally and made available for analysis without technical barriers. It will also not be a violation to extract data from objects for comparison or identifying patterns.
