In Bashkiria, new electric trains have received their own name
The results of the vote in which passengers chose names for modern electric trains have been summed up, reports the Bashkortostan Suburban Passenger Company (BPPK). The tradition of naming trains after birds continues: new "feathered" ones are joining the "Sapsan" (Peregrine Falcon), "Lastochka" (Swallow), "Orlan" (Sea Eagle), "Finist" (Firebird), and "Burevestnik" (Petrel).
"Skvorets" (Starling) – this is what the EP2DM and EP2D series electric trains (operating in Central Russia, the North-West, the Urals, the Volga region, and Siberia) will now be called. This very option "outperformed" the names "Grach" (Rook), "Lazorevka" (Blue Tit), and "Korolyok" (Goldcrest) in the vote, garnering 33.6% of the respondents' votes.
There are 6 EP2D series electric trains involved in the service area of JSC "Bashkortostan Suburban Passenger Company," which run through the territory of the Republic of Bashkortostan and the Chelyabinsk Region along the Dema - Ust-Katav - Mursalimkino route.
