

The city has summed up the results of IT crimes: the damage exceeded 120 million rubles.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Bashkortostan, more than 340 incidents of fraud and almost 70 thefts from bank cards were recorded in Sterlitamak. The total damage caused to city residents by criminals' actions amounted to about 120 million rubles.
The analysis showed that this year, working women aged 35 to 60 are the most susceptible to scammers' persuasion, given the gender distribution: men — 37.6% of all victims; women — 62.4%.
By age group, the situation looks as follows: 35–60 years old — 45.8% (almost half of all victims); 18–35 years old — 27.8%; 60 years and older — 25.4%.
By social status, the victims were distributed as follows: working citizens — slightly more than a third; pensioners — less than a quarter; non-working citizens — less than a quarter; self-employed and individual entrepreneurs — less than 10%; other categories (maternity leave, students, disabled people) — less than 5%.
