In Bashkiria, number of traffic accidents has decreased by quarter
In the republic, from the beginning of the year to the present day, 899 road accidents have been recorded. Compared with the same period last year, their number decreased by 24.5%, according to the acting head of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Viktor Zhulkov, at an operational government meeting at the Center for Management of the Republic. The number of fatalities decreased by 12% (a total of 128 deaths were recorded on the roads), and the number of injuries decreased by 28% (1056).
In less than six months, the traffic police detained almost 76 thousand intoxicated drivers, 82 of whom managed to cause traffic accidents. The most high-profile accidents last week involved an ambulance and a train.
